Week Two Players of the Week Announced
Prospect League announces the ArmCare.com Pitcher of the Week and the Hitter of the Week for the second week of the 2024 season.
MAHOMET, Ill. – The Prospect League is proud to announce the Players of the Week for week two of the 2024 season from June 4 to June 10.
The Week 2 Hitter of the Week is Alex Bemis from the Chillicothe Paints and Gannon University.
In 6 games and 27 at-bats this past week, Bemis hit .370 with 10 hits, 8 runs scored, 1 double, 3 home runs, and 18 runs batted in. He also grabbed 20 total bases and put up a 1.120 on-base + slugging percentage.
Bemis hit .293 in 45 games this spring for Gannon University with 43 hits, 25 runs, and 18 RBIs.
The Week 2 ArmCare.com Pitcher of the Week is Jimmy Burke from the Clinton LumberKings and Creighton University.
In 1 game and 6.0 innings pitched this past week, Burke recorded a 0.00 ERA with 0 runs, 2 hits, no walks, and 8 strikeouts. He also recorded a 1-0 win-loss record and was an inning away from a complete game shutout.
Burke pitched in 16 games this past spring for Creighton University, working 41.0 innings on the mound with a 1-2 record, 28 strikeouts, and a 7.24 ERA.
