Week Three Players of the Week Announced
Chillicothe's Justin Diefenbach and O'Fallon's Patrick Clohisy have been named Pitcher and Slugger of the Week for their efforts June 13-19
The Prospect League and PrestoSports announce the Week Three Players of the Week for games June 13-19, with Chillicothe's Justin Diefenbach earning Pitcher of the Week honors, while O'Fallon's Patrick Clohisy is Slugger of the Week.
Diefenbach (Kean University) started against West Virginia June 15 and didn't allow a run on five hits over 7 1/3 innings. He struck out 10 while walking just three. On the season, Diefenbach is 1-1 through four appearances, including two starts. The New Jersey native owns a 5.65 ERA on the season, striking out 13 over 14 1/3 innings.
Diefenbach joins teammate Nick Lallathin as the second Paints pitcher to earn the honor this season.
Clohisy (Purdue University) played in five games throughout the past week, hitting .600 (9-15). He tallied two doubles, two home runs, six walks, six RBIs and nine runs scored. He also stole five bases on five attempts. On the season, the outfielder is hitting .463 (19-41) through 15 games, collecting five doubles, four home runs and 10 RBIs. He has also walked nine times and stolen nine bases on nine tries.
