Keshawn Ogans Drafted in the 20th Round of the 2022 MLB Draft
PERU, Ill. - The Illinois Valley Pistol Shrimp are proud to announce that 2021 Pistol Shrimp Baseball infielder Keshawn Ogans has been drafted in the 20th round of the 2022 Major League Baseball Amateur Draft by the Atlanta Braves with the 605th overall selection.
Ogans appeared in 39 games for the Pistol Shrimp in 2021 and led Pistol Shrimp hitters in most major categories. Ogans finished with 50 hits, 35 runs scored, 9 doubles, 11 home runs, 29 runs batted in, 19 walks, and 11 stolen bases in 150 at bats including a .333 batting average, .429 on-base percentage, and .637 slugging percentage.
After completing the season with the Pistol Shrimp last summer, Ogans, a native of Daly City, California, finished up his junior season at the University of California, Berkeley where he was named All-Pac-12 Honorable Mention this past spring.
Ogans is the fourth Pistol Shrimp player drafted in the Major League Baseball Amateur Draft over the 4-year history of the team, and the third player drafted from the Pistol Shrimp during the 2022 MLB Draft behind current Pistol Shrimp Noah Schultz and Luke Adams who were taken in round one and round twelve, respectively.
