Prospect League and Field Sports Training Announce Partnership
All 18 teams will be equipped with training aids for fielding, catching, and pitching this season.
MAHOMET, Ill. – The Prospect League and Field Sports Training announced a strategic partnership that will provide baseball training equipment to all 18 teams this season.
Field Sports Training will provide its Fielder's Dome Mat, developed in 2021, and Jose Trevino Catcher's Zone Mat for catchers and pitchers to each Prospect League club for use in training and player development. Clubs with youth programs and camps will also utilize the products in helping teach fundamentals to the next generation of Prospect League players.
"The Prospect League looks forward to this partnership with Field Sports Training," said Prospect League Commissioner David Brauer. "Not only will our teams, coaches, and players benefit from innovative training products, but the League can help promote the improvement of fundamental skills in future players through their youth programs."
Field Sports Training's Fielder's Dome Mat features a unique design used by some of the top baseball instructors to help hand-eye coordination, agility, and reaction times for catchers, infielders, and outfielders. The Catcher's Zone Mat is designed by Major League Baseball Catching Coach Jordan Comadena and 2022 All-Star, Gold Glove, and Platinum Glove winner Jose Trevino and has been used at Pittsburgh Pirates spring training. The mat is the first of its kind to incorporate both catchers and pitchers working in unison by emphasizing proper body angles to frame pitches and providing a visual heat map for pitch location.
"The Prospect League is among the very best in collegiate summer baseball, and we are thrilled to showcase our products with its teams," said Jeff Newkirk, Field Sports Training, Managing Partner. "With training aids that appeal across a wide variety of age and skill levels, we look forward to being part of the League's highly competitive environment and in the individual team's involvement with youth instruction. Reaching the level of the Prospect League's players requires constant dedication to fundamental skills from an early age, and that's what we focus on with all our products."
