Johnstown, REX, Cape, and Clinton Clinch First Half Division Titles
Mill Rats, REX, Catfish, and LumberKings clinch a playoff spot and will host the opening round of the Prospect League Playoffs on August 1st.
The first half of the 2025 Prospect League season finished on Friday, and the Prospect League is proud to officially announce the 2025 First Half Division Champions.
The Johnstown Mill Rats, REX Baseball, Cape Catfish, and Clinton LumberKings have clinched each of their respective divisions' first half championship and will host the opening round of the Prospect League Playoffs on Friday, August 1st.
Eastern Conference
Northeast Division - Johnstown Mill Rats
The Mill Rats claimed the Northeast Division First Half Championship with a 17-9 record. Johnstown finished 1.5 games ahead of the second-place Lafayette Aviators. The first-half title sends the Mill Rats to the playoffs for the second straight season, looking to move past the Divisional Round this season. The Mill Rats will host the Northeast Division Championship game on August 1st at Sargent's Stadium at the Point in Johnstown, Pennsylvania.
Central Division - REX Baseball
The REX claimed the Central Division First Half Championship with an 18-9 record. REX finished 5 games in front of the second-place Normal CornBelters. The first-half title sends REX to the playoffs for the second straight season, coming off their run to the Prospect League Championship Series in 2024. REX will host the Central Division Championship game on August 1st at Sycamore Stadium in Terre Haute, Indiana.
Western Conference
South Division - Cape Catfish
The Catfish claimed the South Division First Half Championship with an 18-9 record. Cape finished just 1 game ahead of the second-place Thrillville Thrillbillies. The first-half title sends the Catfish to the playoffs for the third straight season, looking for their third appearance in the Championship Series. The Catfish will host the South Division Championship game on August 1st at Capaha Field in Cape Girardeau, Missouri.
Northwest Division - Clinton LumberKings
The LumberKings claimed the Northwest Division First Half Championship with an 18-7 record, top in the League. Clinton finished 6.5 games ahead of the second-place Burlington Bees. The first-half title sends the LumberKings to the playoffs for the fourth time, still looking for their first Championship Series appearance. The LumberKings will host the Northwest Division Championship game on August 1st at NelsonCorp Field in Clinton, Iowa.
Second Half Information
Each Prospect League Division will reset its standings for a brand-new second half of the season starting July 28th. The four teams that clinched first-half division titles will not be eligible to win second-half titles. Each first-half champion will host their respective division's second-half first-place finisher or, if the first-half champion finishes in first in the second half, that division's second-half second-place team. The second half concludes following the final game on July 31st.
