KOKOMO, Ind. — The Kokomo Creek Chubs, a member of the Prospect League collegiate summer baseball league, are proud to announce the hiring of Jason Taulman as the team's first head coach. Taulman will lead the Creek Chubs into their inaugural season in summer 2026 at Kokomo Municipal Stadium.
"We're thrilled to have Jason leading our program from day one," said Joe Thatcher, Kokomo native, former Major League pitcher, and part of the Creek Chubs ownership group. "Jason brings a wealth of baseball knowledge, strong player development experience, and a passion for helping young athletes reach their potential. His leadership will set the tone for what we want the Creek Chubs to represent on and off the field."
Taulman has spent nine seasons coaching college baseball, including stints at St. Joseph's College, Butler University, Ball State University, and Marian University—all respected Indiana programs. His diverse coaching experience across multiple levels of collegiate baseball has helped him develop a well-rounded approach to teaching, mentoring, and motivating players both on and off the field. Additionally, Taulman has served as the head coach at Lawrence North High School in Indianapolis since 2023, continuing his commitment to developing young talent within the state of Indiana.
"I'm honored and excited to be the first head coach of the Kokomo Creek Chubs," said Taulman. "This organization has a clear vision for excellence, and I'm eager to help create a culture that values hard work, team chemistry, and growth. Kokomo is a great baseball town, and we're going to bring something special to this community."
The Kokomo Creek Chubs are backed by an experienced baseball-minded ownership and operations group, including former MLB veteran and Kokomo native Joe Thatcher, Bullpen Tournaments, and a close partnership with Prep Baseball.
